Born in New Orleans, raised in California, Sheryl T. McLean is the President and Creative Director of McLean and Tircuit, specializing in high-end residential, multi-family housing and commercial interiors.

McLean is an architectural interior designer who received her training and education from UCLA’s School of Architecture and Urban Planning and was the first Black woman to earn a Master’s Degree in Architecture at UCLA. McLean freelanced at leading architectural firms in California and Washington DC before founding her own firm in Maryland in 2003.

Her aesthetic is influenced by the historic mansions of the French Quarter with intricate iron-laced balconies, to the open floor plans of California bungalows and the more formal Colonial style of the East Coast. She also draws inspiration from traveling the world, studying different cultural and architectural styles, when she worked as an International Flight Attendant.

Her projects range from contemporary residences to a mix of multi-family housing which have included senior living, as well as professional and medical offices. An interior designer, author and speaker, she is known for her bold, colorful aesthetic with a touch of Creole glam.
